High tension and immaculate imagery were paired with accurately portrayed adolescent thought in Emma Cline’s The Girls. Cline’s characterization was breathtaking. The sensory details, the diction–oh, how I swoon! I could go on and on about this amazing story. This book had a lot of parallels to the Tate murders by Manson Family. We get an intimate perspective into the mind of a young woman being enchanted by this cult lifestyle. While the story was raw and captivating, I found the lovely prose to be even more awe-worthy. I definitely recommend that you all run out (or add it to your online cart) and get your hands on this beautiful best-selling novel.
